Thinking with the whole body

Thinking with the whole body (2020) was a workshop offered in UTFPR teaching seminars. The Technological University usually stimulates its students to think primarily with the brain, ignoring the biological and social support of this organ. Physical activity is restricted to complementary activities, which are isolated from the primary processes of learning, assessment, and knowledge creation. It is possible and feasible to engage the entire body in such processes. The first step is to recognize and integrate the practices of embodied thought from the Arts, such as Theater, Dance, and Sculpture. In this workshop, a handful of practices will be tried out to think with the whole body, such as Theater of the Oppressed, Lego Serious Play, Bodystorming, and Dance your PhD.
