My published academic work is now cited 1000 times in Google Scholar. Thank you to everyone who recognized its value. Thank you, 89 coauthors.

It is hard to break this mark when you are working from the Global South. Open access fees are a total rip-off, conferences are happening far away from us, subscription fees are prohibitive due to exchange rates, nobody invites you to join funded projects, and the worst thing of all: the Global South authors and their contributions, which you know much better than the Northern counterparts, aren’t known, appreciated, or welcome in the academic game.
I dedicate this achievement to everyone fighting citation injustice! I wouldn’t be crossing this mark were it not for you people, including those working in the Global North. Let’s keep citing the citedless.
